The first week

- Space

- Pellets and greens

- Spay or neuter

- Nails

- Molting

Emergency card
Call the vet now if you see any of these.
- No food or droppings for 8 hours. Twelve is already an emergency.
- A bloated or tense abdomen
- Hunched posture, or teeth grinding at a harsh, audible pitch
- Visible fly eggs or maggots in fur
- Open-mouth breathing or persistent discharge
- Sudden lethargy or hiding

🐰 Purring Bunnies
Rabbits purr when they're happy! Unlike cats, they do it by softly grinding their front teeth together. It's a quiet sound, and it's common when you stroke a rabbit that is extremely relaxed.
🐰 Rabbits Need Exercise
Rabbits need room to move every day. In a University of Bristol study, rabbit pairs let into their run for only three hours at midday burst into play jumps once released, and pairs in small hutches on that routine had the highest stress hormone levels. Given free run, midday is their laziest time!
🐰 The Binky
Happy rabbits have their own little victory dance, called a binky. The rabbit hops up into the air, gives a quick twist, then lands back on the ground. Vets at the PDSA list it under 'happy hopping', one of the signs of a happy bunny.
