Did you know? Ferrets do a 'war dance' when they're excited: a frenzied hopping, bouncing, and sideways leaping display also called the 'dooking.' Dooking means your ferret is having the time of their life!
The first week

- Cage

- Ferret-proofing
- Block every gap larger than about one inch, secure cabinets and low openings, and remove any rubber or foam items they could chew and swallow, a direct GI blockage risk.Setup guide →
- Diet
- A high-quality, ferret-specific dry kibble, roughly 32 to 40% protein, free-fed around the clock for healthy adults. Never fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, or chocolate.Feeding guide →
- Not eating

- Nipping
